Alice`s Parkside Restaurant in High Springs

I've been going to Alice's for years. Even though Alice and Lola have passed on the food continues to still be delicious. Be sure to order one of their biscuits, they are homemade served hot and are yummy. My personal favorite is the breakfast croissant sandwich with crispy bacon, egg over medium( that way the yoke gets in all the cracks of the croissant) & crispy hash browns and a cup of fresh hot coffee. They have some booths but mostly table's. There is a table to your left as you walk in where anybody can sit together. If you're new in town or just by yourself, come in as a stranger and leave as a friend. There is only one problem for me that I don't like and that is, Alice's does not serve breakfast after 11. My husband and I spent our vacation checking out places that were local and that we knew we couldn’t eat at home in Louisiana. We were camping at Ginnie Springs and we had stopped at another local restaurant and the waitress recommended that we come here. I am so glad we did. Service and food were great. I had an omelet, house fries, and a pancake. Everyone was so friendly, we had a sweet elderly couple beside us and we talked to them for about an hour before our drive to Orlando.

Great little restaurant with down home cooking. Specials everyday. Easy to spot from road with enough parking. Handicap accessible. Wait staff was very busy when I arrived for lunch, but they handled it well. Food was good & hot when it arrived at my table. Very casual atmosphere. Mostly friendly locals who know each other and don't mind conversation.

Food is super fresh and two many sides to choose from.. like grandma is back there cooking friend pork chop out of this world... definitely a local place prices and portion unbelievable.. must visit

Ordered Country fried steak mashed potatoes w/brown gravy, they don't use white gravy, green beans and Cole slaw with sweet tea to drink. They have daily specials. Great if your looking for a southern home cooked meal.

The staff was super kind and accommodating, the menu had every soul food you could ask for, and the food was delicious! The fried chicken was truly a spiritual experience-- it was JUST like my granny used to make. I'm usually not too big on other people's soul food or country cooking, but this place was fantastic! Highly recommend this hidden gem!

Same on a Sunday morning, not terribly busy yet, still had several tables open. Unfortunately this visit wasn't the best. It took quite a while to get our food, and two of the three meals were barely warm when we got them. I ordered an egg with home fries and bacon. The egg was good, but the home fries are flavorless, no seasoning at all, in additional to barely being warm. On the upside, my toast appeared slightly warmer. 😐

Excellent diner breakfast! Corned beef hash was perfect with a hot, fluffy biscuit. Coffee was quite good as well.

If you're looking for comfort food and delicious fried chicken, this is the place. A home-grown place, Alice's is a perfect dive to get some southern food. Not the cleanest looking of places, but the food was delicious. Make sure the waitress gets your order right. The Fried chicken is delicious and enjoy three yummy sides with it. Kids would be fine here, though it is a small place.

The food selection it not the most expansive; consisting of burgers, chicken, meatloaf, fish.I had the cheeseburger with fries. The burger was dry and there weren't many fries. The sweet tea is adequate. My dining companion had the wing basket with sweet potatoe fries. The wings were okay, but greasy. The sweet potato fries were okay. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was very nice.

This place is legit. Fresh food from scratch. Three sides for the dinners and you can get dessert as a side. Yum!

Food was good and at a fair price

We are staying at a campground near by and thought we would have a nice breakfast in town. First impression wasn't great, no sign that tells you to seat yourself, waited until someone acknowledged us. Waitress was either having a bad day or was just not happy about working. Waited a long time for our food. They were not that busy. Food was just okay. Will not be back.

This little place is like back home. Was able to seat 7 with in mins of getting there and prices were great for the amount you got.

I'm an old 60's, 70's hippie so how could I not stop at Alice's restaurant. Google it kids..lolSo I stopped in around dinnertime.They have a pretty varied menu, good prices. Today they offered 3 specials. One of which is a Fried Rib Dinner. I've never heard of ribs cooked this way. The waitress told me they're popular and taste good.So what the heck, I ordered Fried Ribs and am glad I did. Very flavorful and super tender.I'm in town for a week and I'll stop back.

My husband and I were looking for good home made food and we got it here. Had the country fried steak with gravy. We recommend it to anyone who wants a good comfort food meal.
